As part of the ArtsNaples World Festival, Artistic Director Nadia Artman produced an avant-garde haute couture fashion show featuring designs by Mariapia Malerba. Here are some stills from show. You can click here to see the full fashion show that I filmed and video streamed live. It was the event of the year and a highlight of my professional career.

The Glitter Foundation, founded by Amanda Jaron in 2013, is dedicated to supporting  students and educators through grants, mentorships and scholarships. Tonight’s launch will help fund Art Therapy programs at the David Lawrence Center & The Shelter for Abused Women and Children. This event was presented by Naples Illustrated magazine and started off with a jewelry trunk show at Port Royal Jewelers where proceeds went to the Foundation. This was followed by an evening in the Presidential Suite & Rooftop Deck at the Inn on Fifth in Naples, Florida. To support The Glitter Foundation Inc. mission, please visit their website.

This fashion show was filmed in Naples, Florida. Featuring Soma Intimates, BCBG, Petunia’s of Naples and Lux Boutique, it was an unforgettable experience. This video features gorgeous models, including MISS CARNIVAL MIAMI 2013 Lorena Placencia.

My friend Lorena had a birthday this past Saturday and she was part of a fashion show presented by the Integrated Honduran Organization Francisco Morazán and Fashion Designer Henrry Meza, for the Child of Mine charity organization which benefits underprivileged children worldwide. The event was called “Beauty Queens For A Cause/Reínas Por Una Causa” and took place in Miami, Florida. The proceeds of the event were raised for the Honduran children from a poor village called Ojojona. I had a super fun time. This video highlights some of Henrry Meza’s stylish designs and some very lovely Beauty Queens.

Wishline TV pilot

I have been a volunteer for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Florida since the year 2000. It has been such an incredibly rewarding experience. I love being a volunteer for this organization because all it costs is a little bit of your time and you end up meeting a lot of good hearted people, many which become long lasting friends.

I have been asked to film a few wishes over the years and then one day I thought, wouldn’t it be a great idea turn the Make-A-Wish newsletter into a TV show? I am going for a feeling like Ty Pennington’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. But instead of building a house, we are taking you on the journey of what it’s like to be a part of a wish and especially what it’s like for the wish child, and their family, to experience such a thing. It’s a rewarding experience for the volunteer “Wish Granter” because we get to interview the children and help them discover their heartfelt wish. After the main office does the hard work (making the travel arrangements and/or coordinating with the celebrity) to make the wish happen, then we get to deliver it by throwing a “wish delivery party” and sharing the wish itinerary with the family. There is nothing like seeing the smiles of the children, and the family, when it sinks in that their dream is really going to happen. It is great to keep in touch with the family too, after the wish, to hear all about it.

Here is my concept for a wholesome reality TV show with heart. One that elevates the level of TV content, from what you normally see. Something with a righteous and worthy purpose; TO HELP KIDS FORGET ABOUT DOCTORS, HOSPITALS AND THEIR ILLNESS FOR A WHILE AND GIVE THEM A MEMORY OF A LIFETIME. Just watch these videos to see the smiles on the children’s faces as they live out their heartfelt wish!

Thank you, Amy Sedlacek, who agreed to host and do voice-overs for the show. Amy is a former TV reporter for Fox 4 News AND the 2012 Make-A-Wish “Wish Granter” of the year. She currently works at Norman Love Confections. She is a caring, energetic and generous over achiever that I am very glad to know! If you are looking for a great charity organization, then I suggest that you go to the national home page for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, to find the nearest chapter to where you live.

This first episode describes the origin & evolution of the Foundation from it’s very first wish into the Global Organization that it is today. It also highlights the wish of a 9 year old boy, who suffers from a seizure disorder, whose #1 wish was to play basketball with the Florida Gulf Coast University men’s basketball team. This FGCU team just made history this week by being the first 15 seed to get to the final 16, in the NCAA March Madness National Championship Tournament. Go Eagles!

This segment shows a 14 year old girl live out her dream of being a ROCK STAR!

In this segment, Joshua gets to swim and communicate with dolphins. A very fun wish!

It’s ART vs. WAR in this song by Cary Vhugen. Who will win? Watch the video and find out. In this short film, I tried to explore the concepts of beauty, fate, nature and free will. We, as a human race, cannot deny our freedom of choice.

The future is not predetermined. Ignorance is taught and perpetuated BY PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD, the ONLY WORLD (with sweet sunlight, oxygen and natural resources) THAT WE HAVE! The images in this video contrast the beauty of life with the disturbing and dysfunctional state of the world circa 2010. This video shows the moment Benazir Bhutto was murdered. If such a brave and brilliant woman’s life can be extinguished, so easily, by raging religious zealots who live with so much hatred and ignorance in their hearts and minds, then this world has a serious problem. I SEE A FUTURE TIME where people in the Islamic countries will look back at this present time in history with shame. It’s a disgrace that innocent people can get blown up for simply going to market or to a school.

Some people see 2012 as “the coming apocalypse”. Others a U.S. Presidential race. I see it as the start of a new era of human enlightenment. With 2013 being YEAR ONE of the new era, so to speak. What we are seeing is a revolution of freedom in the world today. This is necessarily chaotic. The forces of freedom and literacy MUST DEFEAT the forces of tyranny, hatred and backwardness. There is no other way.

I’m an optimist. Despite all the crazy things that happen in this world, it’s all we have. One of these days people will wise up and attain enlightenment. I doubt it will be in my lifetime but I believe truth and peace will win over ignorance and war. If I’m wrong it’s alright, I would rather live my life deluded by optimism than consumed by hatred. If people erased ignorance and hatred from their hearts and lived every day with wonder and gratitude, the world would be a better place.

HOW DO WE GET PAST THE PRESENT DARK AGE?

1) Do good in the world and you will always have a clear conscience. 2) Choose wisdom over ancient dogma. 3) Try to become personally better, every single day of your precious life… and you too can be a part of the new enlightenment yourself.

There are paintings that islamic militants use to depict paradise, their twisted vision where the supposed virgins are waiting for them… In the meantime here on Earth, they fear and repress young girls and don’t let them get an education. Most likely because they are illiterate themselves. It’s a very sad situation for the year 2011, it’s ass backwards, and it doesn’t have a future. This video shows some of the beautiful artistic paintings that those militants use to brainwash their suicide bomber recruits. I thought is was relevant and quite perverse that they could use such lovely images of “paradise” to promote murder and death.

I sincerely believe that WE COULD FIX THIS situation IN ONE GENERATION. We  just need to educate all kids, all over the world… from kindergarden onwards and teach them proper and scientific human history… That’s it… Just as soon as we can stop being a divided nation ourselves. Like I said, EASY… if your enlightened.
